Between July 7 and 15 Codarts, the conservatoire of Rotterdam, is organizing their yearly summer school. Besides the jazz-orientated pedagogics, this year there is a strong emphasis on the music from Brazil. Students works intensively for 6 days with Hein Van de Geyn and electric bass master Carlos Werneck (Brazil) as well as with the other teachers (Rick Margitza, Philip Catherine, Billy Hart, Gerard Persencer, Dena DeRose, Cyro Baptista, Harold Danko) of the team.
Students bands are formed immediately, these bands are coached by one of the teachers throughout the week and prepare 1 set of music that they perform in one of the jazzcafé’s in Rotterdam from day 3 onwards.

These give a reduction of 50% on the tuition fee. Furthermore all students of the summer school receive a free 3 day pass for the North Sea Jazz Festival
