Die International Society of Bassists (ISB) veranstaltet in ihrem Heimatland USA alle zwei Jahre eine große internationale Konferenz, die ISB Bass Convention – die nächste ist für 2021 geplant, und hätte dieses Jahr sicherlich ohnehin ausfallen müssen. Um die Zeit bis dahin zu überbrücken, findet in diesem Jahr vom 24.–28. Juni ein Online Summit statt:
The International Society of Bassists is proud to support the International Online Bass Summit and its goal of bringing bassists of all ages and abilities together to listen and learn from each other, in a world where circumstances are keeping us apart. Over 70 clinicians presenting sessions on jazz improvisation, technique, master classes, orchestra repertoire, Instrument repair and set-up, panel discussions on teaching, accessories, auditions, pedagogy, contemporary techniques and more.
Zu den Dozenten gehören Barry Green, Jason Heath (co-artistic directors), Gary Karr, Francois Rabbath, John Clayton, Christine Hoock, DaXun Zhang, Andres Martin, Chi-chi Nwanoku und Hans Sturm. Die Teilnahmekosten betragen 147 $ (97$ Frühbucher bis 20. Mai; die Erlöse fließen dem ISB Educational Program zu)
